Former Jaggampeta MLA Jyothula Nehru resigned as TDP vice president on Friday to protest the leadership’s decision to boycott the April 8 MPTC / ZPTC elections.
“I made it clear that the TDP should contest the MPTC / ZPTC elections during a recent meeting called to decide on the action plan. The boycott of the elections will weaken the local party. I resigned as TDP vice president, ”said Nehru The Hindu over the phone.
Many high-ranking leaders, including Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, spoke out against the idea of boycotting the MPTC / ZPTC elections, he said.
“I will continue to be responsible for the constituency of the Jaggampeta Assembly. I’m not going to leave the party, ”he added.
