Student unions are demanding the publication of a new job calendar with 83,000 jobs

Student union representatives were arrested while protesting near the residence of Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao in Seethammadhara on Monday.

Organized under the auspices of the Students Federation of India (SFI) and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the protest called for the removal of the recently published job calendar by the state government and the release of a new one with 83,000 jobs, as promised by the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the past.

SFI City Secretary LJ Naidu said that Andhra University SFI Secretary N. Raju was arrested at his home. DYFI City Secretary USN Raju and Andhra University President Raviteja and 20 others who protested peacefully were also arrested by police. He condemned the arrests and asked the state government to release a new job calendar with more jobs.
