City yoga sessions draw large crowds

On Monday’s International Yoga Day, many avid practitioners were practicing yoga in open spaces across the city to keep themselves healthy.

As many health professionals have emphasized the importance of yoga in the pandemic to maintain both physical and mental fitness, more and more people have expressed an interest in it. It is recommended during such times to combat emotional stress and anxiety.

Under the guidance of yoga guru G. Balasubramanium, people in the city did stretching and breathing exercises, including Surya Namaskar. A pranayamam session was organized on this occasion to highlight the benefits of the ancient practice.

Many young people took part in the sessions on the spacious grounds near the Rambabu Hospital, while many women did the stretching exercises in Hatha Yoga Kendra here. A virtual meeting was also organized on the occasion.
