Surveillance has been stepped up to curb crimes against women

Prakasam Police Superintendent Siddharth Kaushal led staff on Monday to patrol the streets in Ongole and its suburbs to ensure the safety of women.

The SP crossed the city on a motorcycle with police officers concentrating on areas where crimes against women had occurred in the past. Monitoring was stepped up in areas prone to such incidents. He gave grassroots police advice on how to take deterrent steps to prevent illegal and anti-social activities.

He underlined the need to popularize the Disha app with women as it would go a long way in curbing incidents of gender crime. The SP also warned against departmental measures against officials who believed they were negligent in their actions against the accused.
