South Coastal AP records 328 new cases, 4 deaths

South Coastal Andhra Pradesh recorded more than 300 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours that ended at 9 a.m. on Monday, the lowest in a long time, while more than 600 people were declared recovered during the period, which is the number of active cases reduced to a little over 9,100, according to a state government health bulletin.

Four other patients – three in Prakasam district and one in SPSR Nellore district – succumbed to the disease during the reporting period. This increased the toll in the region to 1,784. Prakasam district had 895 deaths and SPSR Nellore district had 889 deaths.

The cumulative number rose slightly to over 2.43 lakh, with 201 people in SPSR Nellore District and 127 in Prakasam District testing positive for the disease in the past 24 hours.

At least 416 patients in Prakasam District and 201 patients in SPSR Nellore District recovered, improving the recovery rate to 95.52%. So far, over 2.32 lakh have won the fight against the disease in both districts.

Meanwhile, SPSR Nellore Collector KVNChakradhar Babu said the recognition should go to health care workers who provided patients with the best treatment that helped them recover from the disease.
