Red Sanders smugglers detained, 57 tree trunks confiscated

Kadapa police attacked two gangs of red grinder smugglers on Monday and arrested thirteen people in two separate incidents.

Veeraballi sub-inspector Mohammed Rafi and forest officials arrested eight smugglers near Madhavandlapalli and confiscated 40 logs and a ten-wheel truck from their property. Those arrested were: C. Amarendra Raju, M. Mallikarjuna Naik, B. Subbarama Naik, B. Nagaraju Naik, V. Anjaneyulu, D. Venkataramana, M. Mallikarjun and Babu Naik.

In the second incident, Deputy Police Commissioner (Mydukur) N. Vijaykumar dispatched a team to comb the Porumamilla mandal, from which 17 logs were confiscated. The police arrested five people, V. Venkaiah, V. Ravi, K. Adinarayana, C. Venkatramana and O. Adivaiah. The total value of the spoils confiscated in the two operations is estimated at almost cro2 billion.
