Increase the number of vacancies in different governments. Departments, calls JAC Chief Minister

Andhra Pradesh Nirudyoga Joint Action Committee (JAC) has appealed to Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to increase the number of jobs in accordance with the promises he has made in the past and to make the job calendar he published more meaningful.

In a letter to the Chief Minister on Tuesday, JAC State President Samayam Hemanta Kumar recalled that during the Police Martyrs Meeting in 2020, Mr. Jagan announced that 6,500 police positions would be filled each year. However, only 450 police posts have been reported in the current job calendar, causing severe resentment among unemployed youth, Kumar said. They fear they will exceed the upper age limit for entering employment, he said.

Mr. Kumar said the upper age limit for general category candidates should be permanently increased from 23 to 25 years for police officers, from 25 to 30 years for SI and from 28 to 30 years for DSP. Similarly, for other exams run by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), the age limit should be temporarily increased to 47 for this notification as two valuable academic years have been lost due to COVID-19, he said . The upper age limit for District Selection Committee (DSC) exam candidates should be permanently raised to 44 years, Kumar said.

The jobs advertised in the job calendar for groups 1 and 2 are only 36 and should be increased. The positions in groups 3 and 4 were not advertised and should also be filled immediately. It was also promised that the DSC exam would be held every year, but not even a body was notified. He wanted the instant announcement of a mega DSC.

Likewise, no position has been filled in the library department in the past 12 years. The JAC guide was looking to set up digital libraries for every 2,000 residents and to fill vacancies with the DSC exam. He also looked for vacancies in other departments.
