The cumulative number in South Coast Andhra rose to over 2.42 lakh as 235 people in SPSR Nellore District and 451 people in Prakasam tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours through 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Two patients in Prakasam district and one in SPSR Nellore district died from the virus. The number of tolls in the region rose slightly to 1,776, according to a health bulletin published by the state government on Saturday night.
At least 892 patients in Prakasam District and 508 in SPSR Nellore District were declared recovered during the reporting period. As a result, the number of active cases in the region fell to 10,092, including 4,509 in the Prakasam district.
The recycling rate thus improved further to 95.53%. So far, over 2.31 lakh patients have recovered in the two districts.
