Employee of the municipality of Atmakur in the ACB network

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) detectives arrested two employees of Atmakur Township on Friday after they reportedly accepted an 8,000 yen bribe from a person who received a tax bill for his two-part home.

According to complainant Y. Ananda Rao, he requested the audit on January 29 and June 14, but Atmakur City Finance Inspector M. Yellanna and Bill Collector Gaddam Linga Swamy failed to process his file and allegedly asked for a yen 8,000 bribe .

“Instead of giving the amount, Mr. Ananda Rao contacted the ACB. We set a trap for him by asking him to take the money to the inspector, ”said J. Siva Narayana Swamy, deputy police superintendent of Kurnool ACB.

Both defendants were arrested and the official file was also confiscated after a chemical test on their hands and banknotes, the DSP said.
