Steps to introduce Telugu as an official language in the state: Yarlagadda

Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao published a book ‘Padha Kosham – Mee Kosam’ here on Friday, published by the Andhra Pradesh Official Language Committee at the Hindi Department of Andhra University.

He said that an office of the committee would be opened in Visakhapatnam.

Rajya Sabha member V. Vijaya Sai Reddy said that translating words from one language to another without losing the essence is not an easy task.

Committee chairman Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad said that measures would be taken to make Telugu the official language in the state.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Andhra PVGD Prasad Reddy spoke.

Committee members Chandu Subba Rao and Sheik Mastan were among those in attendance.
