Sathya Sai Organizations Help COVID-19 Patients

The Andhra Pradesh Wing of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations has extended a helping hand to those affected by the second wave of the pandemic across the state.

Since cases suddenly increased from March onwards, members of the organization have launched a range of services, including 32 communal kitchens. Most in demand, however, were the 38 telemedicine centers with 109 doctors handling calls and around 40 beds in different locations reserved for COVID patients either for treatment or as an isolation ward. A total of 10 ambulances are planned for this, it said. Up to 49 lines were set up for telemedicine and gastronomy. More than 1,000 volunteers participated in various service activities.

As part of the hunger relief service, 10,215 Amrutha Kalashams (one month of dry food for a family) were provided, while 2,35825 food parcels were distributed during these 90 days.

Cooked meals were served to 14,860 patients and their families. 6,420 infants received baby food and 50,000 packets of fruit and snacks. The livestock were supplied with 60 feedstuffs they supplied. In addition, the hospitals received 43 oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators and oximeters.
