AP responds positively to TS’s request to support the school infra project

Meanwhile, at a review meeting on Mana Badi – Nadu Nedu, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy instructed officials to draw up an action plan for the implementation of the new education policy, while assuring that no single employee would be fired from the schools or result in it the closure of Anganwadi Centers.

He said there should be two types of schools, one of Preschool (PP) -1, PP-2, Preparatory Class, and Grades 1 and 2, should be within a kilometer of students, and the other, Grades 3 through 10 within three kilometers.

He explained that the purpose of the new policy is to keep the teacher-student ratio at a rational level. The goal is to provide quality education, teaching and infrastructure as per the National Education Plan, he told officials.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the government is looking forward to English classes and is striving to provide quality education.

Foundation schools

The prime minister ordered that the infrastructure works in Anganwadi centers under Nadu-Nedu should be completed in two years, pointing out that the concept of foundation schools was introduced by the central government and should be pursued by all states.

He stressed the need to improve the facilities in laboratories and libraries in schools and to provide better internet facilities.

The officials informed the chief minister that the second phase of the Nadu-Nedu would begin on July 1.

Among those present were Ministers A. Suresh (Education) and T. Vanitha (Women and Children Aid) as well as Main Secretaries B. Rajashekar (School Education) and AR Anuradha (Women and Children Aid).
