Naval officer is “missing” from the ship

A naval officer named Kakarla Srinivas, who works at Synergy Maritime Private Limited, has been missing for weeks on the ship he was stationed on, his family members said in a police report.

Mr. Srinivas, a resident of Guntur, works as the chief officer at Synergy Maritime. He was posted on a ship sailing from Singapore to the United States and has reportedly been missing since May 23.

Synergy Maritime officials have reportedly confirmed the officer’s disappearance.

“Management did not notify us of his disappearance, and we learned about the incident through his friends. His cell phone stays on, ”said a family member.

Family members reportedly suspect that Mr Srinivas’ friends, including his girlfriend, were involved in his disappearance. However, his friends claim that they were informed of the disappearance of Mr. Srinivas by Synergy Maritime officials and that they then alerted his family. Mr. Srinivas had some differences with his colleagues, his friends said.

Speak with The Hindu, said Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police Arif Hafeez that Mr Srinivas’ family members had filed a complaint with the Arundelpet Police Department to urge that his property be traced.

“According to his family members, the incident occurred off the coast. We have no information about when and where he went missing, ”said Hafeez.

Police are trying to contact his friends and are investigating the complaint, the SP said.
