South Coastal AP reports 890 new infections, 4 deaths

The state energy minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy together with his wife Sachi Devi B. distributed Anandaiah’s herbal mixture free of charge to people who crowded his residence in Ongole on Wednesday.

“People trust the herbal cure for the viral disease,” he said as he oversaw the distribution of the herbal preparation by YSR Congress Party volunteers led by Singaraju City Unit President Venkat Rao. The herbal concoction would be distributed to all those in need in the Ongole Congregation constituency on a satiety basis, he said.

Meanwhile, the number of active COVID cases in the south coast of Andhra Pradesh has dropped to below 11,500 in the past 24 hours, while four more people, two each in Nellore and Prakasam, succumbed to the virus on Wednesday.

The toll rose to 1,755 in the region, of which 880 were in the SPSR Nellore district. Compared to the previous day, the daily balance in the region rose slightly by 161 to 890 and accumulated over 2.40 lakh.

In the region, the positive trend of recoveries compared to new cases continued. The recovery rate improved to 94.48% as at least 1,550 patients were declared cured in the SPSR Nellore district and 746 patients in the Prakasam district. So far, over 2.27 lakh people have recovered in the two districts.
