AU signs pact with IPTSE

Andhra University and Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination (IPTSE) Academy signed a letter of intent during a webinar on Monday.

The MoU was signed by Prof. V. Krishna Mohan, Registrar of AU and Sourabh Sachdeva from IPTSE.

According to Prof. Krishna Mohan, the aim of the MoU is to promote an IP culture in the academic institutions in Andhra Pradesh.

As part of the MoU, IPTSE and Andhra University, the state’s IPR Node Agency, will organize workshops, seminars, webinars and training programs for faculty members and students, and prepare students for the IP Olympic Exam and offer internships to students.

During the inaugural address in the webinar on the promotion of IP skills, AU Vice Chancellor Prof. PVGD Prasad Reddy highlighted the university’s various initiatives to promote intellectual property.

He also said the university is making IP applications mandatory for PhD students, especially those applying for a PhD from industry.

Webinar coordinator Prof. H. Purushotham mentioned that the IP literacy rate needs to be increased in order to improve IP registrations in the state.
