49 hectares of government. Reclaimed land in Vizag in one day

Last year, the Visakhapatnam district administration took back 430.81 hectares of infested government land as part of a special campaign.

The value of the properties in and around the port city was about 4.292 billion yen, according to an official press release.

Criminal proceedings had been launched against those who had occupied the lands and steps were taken to recapture additional lands, on which various illegal structures emerged.

On Sunday, 49.05 acres of government land (in addition to 430.81 acres) were reclaimed by authorities, which had a market value of approximately 792 billion yen, the press release said.

District officials pushed the land reclamation drive forward with due support from the Treasury Department and the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. Much of the land that was wrested from the invaders was in the mandals of Visakhapatnam Rural, Anandapuram, Gajuwaka and Sabbavaram.

The total value of all the lands was approximately 805,080 crore, according to the census numerical data disclosed by the officials concerned.
