Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked the vice chairman of NITI Aayog, Rajiv Kumar, to include the expenditures for the infrastructure component of the “Pedalandariki Illu” program in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in order to relieve the state.
He informed Mr. Kumar during an official interaction in New Delhi on Thursday that the government was building a total of 28.30 lakh houses in 17,005 colonies as part of the Pedalandariki Illu program, which acquired 68,381 hectares of land. In the current year 15 lakh units should be built. The cost of the basic infrastructure was estimated at 34,109 billion.
The Prime Minister also wanted Rajiv Kumar to facilitate investment approval for the Polavaram project as recommended by the PPA and CWC and accepted by the Jal Shakti Union Ministry’s technical advisory committee.
He said the government’s goal is to complete the construction of the project, as well as the relocation and rehabilitation of the displaced, by June 2022. Timely investment clearance is required to achieve this, said Jagan Mohan Reddy.
