Facebook is granting $ 20,000 in advertising credit to the Department of Health’s website

The social media portal Facebook has given the Andhra Pradesh Ministry of Health, COVID-19 Response Arogya Andhra, a promotional credit worth US $ 20,000 to raise awareness of the pandemic.

In a press release, COVID Command Control Center Nodal officer Arja Srikanth said the Department of Health’s Facebook page had over 1.63 lakh followers, which was higher than many other states including Gujarat. Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Odisha.

He said that given the AP side’s active participation during the second wave of COVID-19, Facebook had granted $ 20,000 in advertising credit. A $ 15,000 promotional credit was given out in the first wave, he said.

He said Facebook also activated the page with the COVID-19 alert option and reached two million Facebook users in the state.

Mr Srikanth said that in addition to content development, Facebook also provided technical assistance.
