Complete suspension in parts of Chittoor Corporation

Chittoor Municipal Corporation authorities have been considering a full shutdown in some parts as daily COVID cases have increased.

Of the 50 divisions, the Doddipalle and Murakambattu areas were completely closed, except for essential services.

Deputy SP (Law and Order) N. Sudhakar Reddy said that although the company and the surrounding area were on lockdown from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the next day, some departments were increasingly locked down.

The towns of Murakambattu and Doddipalle have been monitored because of the domestic industry and the density of the workforce and their hectic movement.

Community Commissioner Viswanath announced that a five-day full lockdown would take place in the village of Doddipalle from June 12th. Barricades have been erected in some residential areas where COVID cases have been high.

Mr. Viswanath urged the police to bring cases against those who violated the lockdown rules.

Meanwhile, Chittoor District recorded 1,199 positive cases on Saturday, including 101 in Chittoor Corporation. While the highest case numbers were reported from the western mandalas, the eastern mandalas showed some respite.
