S. Nagalakshmi takes over the post of 101st collector from Anantapur

Nagalakshmi Selvarajan, a 2012-batch IAS officer, took office as the 101st Collector of Anantapur District on Friday.

Ms. Nagalakshmi immediately held a meeting to review the COVID-19 situation and the containment / treatment activities that were being carried out to curb the transmission of the virus.

After Ms. Nagalakshmi took over the management of the outgoing collector Gandham Chandrudu, she held informal discussions in her rooms with the joint collectors Nishant Kumar and A. Siri together with Penukonda sub-collector T. Nishanthi, who was sent to Anantapur as a joint collector (apartment) . Y. Kameswara Prasad, District Medical Officer and Health Officer, and PVVS Murthy, Municipal Officer, also met the new collector.

Ms. Nagalakshmi was previously the chairman and general manager of Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) before being transferred to Anantapur District.

“I worked here as a trainee for the first time in 2013/14. My top priority will be the proper implementation of the Navaratnalu welfare programs established by the state government, ”Ms. Nagalakshmi said, adding that she will be keeping a close eye on the COVID-19 situation and will monitor bed availability, oxygenation and readiness Measures and then draw up an action plan according to the guidelines of the state government.

“Another focus will be housing for the poor, which has been tackled with great ambition. I will also look at other issues such as agriculture and drought control and take the necessary action, ”she said.
