Jagan throws Amit Shah. a problem with three capitals

Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy briefed Interior Minister Amit Shah at their meeting in New Delhi on Thursday evening about the state government’s decision to have three capitals in order to ensure balanced development in all regions.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the government even passed the enabling law called AP Decentralization and Inclusive Development of All Regions in the assembly to shape Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Kurnool as executive, legislative and judicial capitals.

He asked Mr Shah to reissue the High Court relocating to Kurnool, noting that the BJP was in favor of the establishment of the High Court headquarters in Rayalaseema.

Special status

In addition, the prime minister reiterated the state’s call for special category status (SCS) by insisting that it is imperative for the state to recover from the blow inflicted by the division of the united state of Andhra Pradesh. By granting SCS, Jagan Mohan Reddy said, the central government could provide more grants to the state and facilitate much-needed industrial development.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy urged Mr Shah to give the necessary permits to set up 13 new medical colleges in the state and to take the initiative to release 3.229 billion due to the state civil service and pay 4,652 crore to the state under MGNREGS . He also asked the Minister of the Interior to secure the payment of 5,540 billion yen by Telangana DISCOMs to AP-Genco for the electricity supplied to them and to reduce the debt of approx.
