Abduction case resolved in 12 hours, 3 detained

The police resolved a kidnapping case within 12 hours on Wednesday and rescued the victim. They arrested three people and confiscated their cell phones and three vehicles that were used in the act.

According to Machilipatnam Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) M. Ramesh Reddy, Mallavolu Garuvu’s V. Nagamani filed a complaint with Gudur Police, alleging that a gang abducted their son V. Ram Prasad on Tuesday for allegedly failing to take the loan had repaid taken from him by the accused.

Three teams were formed to solve the case. Police officers tracked down cell phones of the alleged kidnappers and cracked the case, the DSP said. The defendant reportedly called Ram Prasad’s family members and threatened to kill him if the loan were not paid back immediately.

Police arrested T. Manohar Naidu, his father Simhachalam Naidu, and another person, Harish, who allegedly had resorted to the crime. The victim has been hospitalized and is currently receiving treatment, Ramesh Reddy said.

One case has been registered and the investigation is ongoing, the DSP added.
