Foundations Minister and Acting Minister of District Vizianagaram Velampalli Srinivasa Rao said Tuesday that the state government is taking a number of steps for the district’s overall development, while claiming its progress has been completely ignored by the previous government. Together with the Deputy Prime Minister Pamula Pushpa Srivani and the Minister for City Administration and Development Botcha Satyanarayana, he checked the development of the district in the Collectorate.

On that occasion, he instructed officials to provide details of various ongoing projects and the funding requirements to prioritize the issue. Mr Satyanarayana said that the rural economy should be strengthened by giving every aid to farmers in the following kharif season. He directed the officials to finalize rice procurement in view of the rabi season, as many farmers faced many hurdles in selling their produce. He said nearly 8,300 tons of rice remained to be procured in the district.

Ms. Pushpa Srivani expressed concern about many irregularities in the payment of pensions. She instructed the officers to conduct an investigation and take immediate corrective action. District collector M. Hari Jawaharlal told ministers that COVID-19 cases in the district had decreased significantly.

Vizianagaram MP Bellana Chandrasekhar, Bobbili MLA Sambangi Venkata China Appala Naidu, Parvatipuram MLA Alajangi Jogarao and S.Kota MLA Kadubandi Srinivasa Rao and other lawmakers attended the meeting.
