Around 3,000 kg of ganja confiscated, two arrested from Uttar Pradesh

City police arrested two people on Tuesday allegedly transporting around 3,000 kg of ganja in a container truck near Lankelapalem, below the borders of the Parawada police station.

According to the police, the police teams intercepted the vehicle near Lankelapalem based on credible information. The defendant had obtained the ganja from interior areas of the Pedabayulu mandal and was on his way to Uttar Pradesh. In order to escape the police controls, the smugglers had made a box in the container truck. However, after a thorough examination, the ganja was found. The two arrested came from Uttar Pradesh, the police said. Police said the ganja could sell for over 3 billion yen in the northern states. Police Commissioner Manish Kumar Sinha paid tribute to the Parawada Police for seizing the ganja.
