The Pope of Pushpagiri supports the TTD position on the birthplace of Hanumanum

Pushpagiri Mutt Pontiff Sri Vidya Shankara Bharati Swamy supported the position of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on the place of birth of Lord Hanuman.

When attending the third day of the five-day celebration of ‘Hanuman Jayanti’ in Akasa Ganga on the hills of Tirumala on Sunday, he said the “Puranic evidence” conclusively proved that Anjana Devi was in Anjanadri, one of the seven ‘The hills of Tirumala repented to father Lord Anjaneya.

The Pope praised TTD management for running “Akhanda Sundarakanda Parayanam” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

TTD Additional Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy, Vice Chancellor of the National Sanskrit University (NSU), V. Muralidhara Sharma, and TTD’s advisor (Vaikhanasa Agama) Mohana Rangacharyulu attended.

Hanuman as a mentor

In the meantime, NSU academic MG Nandan Bhat gave a conceptual lecture on the personality of Hanuman at the Nada Neerajana Mandapam, in which he recalled Hanuman’s brave deeds from his childhood.

“A versatile personality, Hanuman acted as a mentor to devotees to walk the right path of piety to achieve greater goals in life,” he said.

Quoting the Puranas, he said that Lord Anjaneya never went by name, fame or power and remained a follower of Lord Rama despite being instructed in music, statecraft and war strategy by Surya Bhagavan and other saints.
