The state government has announced that it will cover the treatment costs of N. Dr. Bhaskara Rao was transferred to Aayush Hospital in Vijayawada on May 3 when his condition worsened. On May 10, he was transferred to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad, where he was ventilated. He was later transferred to a nursing care hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, where he was recommended to undergo extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and a lung transplant, which would cost him approximately $ 1.50 billion.
When Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy learned of his condition from Energy Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, he instructed officials to ensure that Dr. Bhaskara Rao is treated well at the government’s expense.
