AU, SVU, JNTU-K to get infrared boost

The state government wants Andhra University, Sri Venkateswara University and JNTU-Kakinada to be in the “Top Ten Club” of the National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking.

At a meeting after the unveiling of the bronze statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar on the JNTU-Kakinada campus here on Saturday the minister said that as part of its efforts, the government is interested in developing the infrastructure and improving the academic standards of these institutions.

More than 3,600 crore was spent on the Nadu-Nedu program, which gave state schools a facelift last fiscal year, he said. A total of 4,000 billion yen will be spent on upgrading educational facilities in 2021-22, he added. “The infrastructure in junior and graduate colleges is also being improved,” said Suresh.

Minister K. Kannababu, Ch. Venu Gopala Krishna and P. Viswaroop as well as Special Chief Secretary and JNTU-K Vice Chancellor (responsible) Satish Chandra were present.
