Run 10,000 COVID-19 tests a day, Collector tells officials

District collector V. Vinay Chand has instructed officials to increase COVID-19 tests and run 10,000 tests a day. He also urged officials to clarify the issues and ensure that the test results, especially in the areas of the agency, are published at the earliest. The collector held a COVID-19 readiness review meeting with officers here on Friday in the district.

Mr. Vinay Chand emphasized the need to adhere to COVID-19 security precautions in the district. He said patients treated in isolation at home should be given kits. He said people should be made aware to call service “104” if they find COVID-19 symptoms. He also urged officials to speed up the vaccination process in the district at the same time.

The Collector also directed officials to take steps to deposit 10 lakh as fixed-term deposits in the accounts of children who have lost their parents to the COVID-19. He checked oxygen availability and asked officials from the Ministry of Health to send cylinders to Paderu District Hospital, Araku District Hospital and Community Health Center (CHC) in Chintapalle.

The director of Andhra Medical College (AMC), PV Sudhakar, DMHO P. Suryanarayana and others were present.
