Techies come together for a good cause

Several software engineers have teamed up to do their part in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Swicka AP and Telugu Association of North America (TANA) have jointly set up a COVID isolation center for patients who cannot isolate themselves at home.

The isolation center is located on the first floor of the Sundarayya Skill Development Center in Vaddeswaram on the Vijayawada-Guntur Highway and was inaugurated on May 22nd. A team of committed student volunteers, academics and IT experts operates the center.

The center provided facilities to isolate COVID-19 patients under 65 years of age in Guntur and Krishna districts, as well as those with mild symptoms who could not self-isolate at home. Parents and relatives of people who are outside the state and abroad can remain in self-isolation in the center.

“We provide facilities to help patients get back on track to recovery, such as the carrom board and yoga exercises,” said K. Sripath Roy, general secretary of Swicka AP and associate dean at KL University.

Hygiene, hygiene and a healthy diet are taken care of and the patients’ vital signs are monitored three times a day by doctors and nursing staff.
