Vaccination for everyone who goes abroad: Singhal

Chief Secretary (Health, Medicine and Family Welfare) Anil Kumar Singhal has announced that the government will allow anyone traveling abroad to be vaccinated regardless of their age.

The district collectors have been given instructions to facilitate the vaccination of students and other people who must leave the country, even if they are in the 18+ category, Mr Singhal told the media on Wednesday.

“The beneficiaries have to present their passport as an identification document at the vaccination center so that it is mentioned on the globally recognized vaccination card,” said Singhal.

Very few cans are available in the state and the center has yet to ship the 8.7 lakh cans allocated to Andhra Pradesh for the two weeks June 1-15, he added.

Grant increased

Regarding the senior resident physician scholarship, Mr. Singhal said the government decided to increase it from 45,000 yen to 70,000 yen after discussions with the chief secretary and the resident physician association representatives.

He said orders would be issued in a week after the remaining issues were resolved.

Mr Singhal said 443 tons of medical oxygen of the 590 tons allocated to the state had been used in the past 24 hours.
