Police save man from drowning

A 28-year-old man who allegedly tried to end his life was saved here on RK Beach Thursday by the immediate police response.

Ritesh Singh, 28, a resident of the Gajuwaka area, allegedly tried to end his life by drowning in the sea across from Kali Matha Temple at around 1 p.m. K. Raju fell into the water and brought him ashore.

Police learned that Ritesh allegedly tried to end his life because of financial problems. The police later took him to the City III Police Station for a consultation. He was later given to his family members.

Police Commissioner Manish Kumar Sinha paid tribute to both police personnel and the swimmer for their quick response to save the man’s life.
