Lawsuit filed against Ruia Superintendent

Telugu Desam Party leader Mohan Rao Pawar filed a lawsuit against the Superintendent of Sri Venkateswara Ramnarain Ruia Government General Hospital (SVRRGGH) in the IV Additional Junior Civil Judge Court in Tirupati on Wednesday for a lack of oxygen that resulted in many deaths.

Mr. Mohan, former chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Sports Authority (SAAP), claimed that the hospital management could not get the supply on time despite sufficient availability of oxygen in the market, which he pointed to “clear negligence” in the part of the hospital which it is for the punishment under Sections 304-A of the IPC (negligent death) is held responsible.

In the case in which Superintendent K. Bharathi was named as a defendant, it was also mentioned that only eleven were pronounced dead in the tragic incident, despite forty COVID-19 patients having died.
