AP ranks third in the Sustainable Development Goals India Index 2020-21

Kerala led the table with 75 points, followed by Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in second place with 74 points each.

Andhra Pradesh shared third place in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index 2020-21 alongside Goa, Karnataka and Uttarakhand with 72 points each on a scale of 0 – 100. The state’s score last year was 67.

Kerala led the table with 75 points, followed by Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in second place with 74 points each. With 71 and 70 points, Sikkim and Maharashtra were fourth and fifth, according to the third edition of the report entitled “SDG India Index & Dashboard 2020-21”.

AP is one of the 15 states that are “frontrunners” with values ​​from 65 to 99. The state was rated as the front runner in SDG No. 7, ie affordable and clean energy.

The SDG India Index, developed in cooperation with the United Nations, tracks the progress of the states and Union territories using 115 indicators that are coordinated with the National Indicator Framework of the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation (MOSPI).
