Zoo organizes virtual summer camp

Officials from the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) will organize a virtual summer camp for students aged 12-18 from June 28th to July 4th.

IGZP curator Nandani Salaria said that due to COVID-19, IGZP is running the camp online where students learn about the importance of nature conservation and wildlife management in the zoo.

Students have two hours of lessons a day about the wildlife of Vizag Zoo, animal behavior studies, animal management in the zoo, wildlife rescue and veterinary care of zoo animals. Children will also have fun activities and tasks on a daily basis, she said.

Officials said applications must be completed through an online portal available on the zoo website (www.vizagzoo.com). Each participant receives an e-certificate, a special souvenir kit and a free visit to the zoo after it reopens. For more information, call 0891 2552081 or 9441130894 or visit the zoo website. The application deadline is June 25th, 2021.
