Recovery rate improved in South Coastal AP

Over 2,300 patients recovered, although eight succumbed to the virus disease in the south coast of Andhra Pradesh within 24 hours.

The number of recoveries continued to be higher, while new infections in SPSR Nellore and Prakasam districts increased by 656 compared to the previous day. The recycling rate improved further to 85.43% in both districts.

Four patients died in each of the two districts, bringing the number of patients in the region to 1,625. So far, Nellore County has reported 822 victims, while Prakasam has reported 803 victims since the pandemic began last year, according to a health bulletin the state government released Tuesday evening.

The total exceeded the 2.26 lakh mark as 444 people in the SPSR Nellore district and 935 people in the Prakasam district tested positive for the disease.

Healthcare professionals took a breather as the number of active cases in the region fell 942 to 31,381 during the reporting period. Prakasam District had a higher number of active cases at 19,184. These cases were relatively fewer at 12,197 in the neighboring SPSR district of Nellore.
