The price of a liter of gasoline exceeded 100 yen on Tuesday in Vijayawada and other parts of the state. The price had already exceeded 100 yen in cities like Guntur and broke the psychological barrier in Vijayawada on Tuesday. Premium gasoline costs ₹ 104 per liter.
Prices were increased by about 25 Paise, bringing the price of gasoline to over 100 yen per liter. In fact, an average increase of 25 Paise has been observed over the past three days. The undiminished rise in the price of gasoline and diesel has intensified since the last week of April, when the election process was completed in five states.
A year ago people got almost one and a half liters for 100 yen. The price was around 74 yen per liter on May 21, 2020. Likewise, the price of diesel was around 68 yen.
According to information, prices vary from city to city in the state. However, gasoline costs a little over ₹ 99 in Visakhapatnam. The cost is 100.40 in Vijayawada, 100.68 in Guntur, and 100 plus in Kurnool. The Steel City has an advantage due to the location of a refinery. Vijayawada also enjoys an advantage due to the location of a storage terminal in Kondapalli.
Diesel tankers will not be spared from the price increase either. An average increase of about 20 Paise per liter of diesel has been recorded in the state.
Fuel prices vary from state to state, depending on local taxes such as sales tax and freight charges. Oil companies review gasoline and diesel prices daily based on the average price of the reference fuel in the international market over the last 15 days and exchange rates.
