About 1 crore get the jab in AP

The state has reached the milestone of administering vaccine doses of 1 crore to beneficiaries to date.

As of June 1, 1,00,74,471 doses were administered and 25,29,167 beneficiaries were fully vaccinated. In other words, 75.45,304 people in the state have received at least one dose of vaccination, of which 38.40 lakh are in the 45-60 age group, 25.85 lakh in the 60+ age group, and 11.17 lakh in the age group 18 to 44 year olds.

Over 50.16 lakh beneficiaries are expected to receive a second dose of the vaccine against COVID within the next three months.

Health and Family Welfare Commissioner Katamneni Bhaskar said the state has received 98.85.650 doses of vaccine to date, and 66.82 lakh Covishield and 15.17 lakh Covaxin have been administered by the center. The state procured 13.41 lakh Covishield cans and 3.43 lakh Covaxin cans.

However, the state was able to deliver the 98.85 lakh doses to 1,00,74,471 beneficiaries because health workers and the ANM effectively managed the administration of the doses by avoiding waste, he said.

To date, doses of 82.95 lakh Covishield and 17.78 lakh Covaxin have been administered in the state.

According to the central government’s CoWIN dashboard, 0.004% cases of post-vaccination side effects have been reported in the state. Vaccination began in the state on Jan. 16, and currently beneficiaries over the age of 45, excluding health and frontline workers, have been vaccinated.
