Vice Admiral Sreekumar Nair becomes General Director of Naval Projects

Vice Admiral Sreekumar Nair took over the position of Director General Naval Project (DGNP), Visakhapatnam, from Vice Admiral Kiran Deshmukh on Tuesday. Vice Admiral Nair was previously Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam, and Assistant Chief of Material (Information Technology and Systems) at the Navy Integrated Headquarters.

The flag officer was inducted into the Indian Navy as an electrical officer on August 17, 1987 and is a graduate of the former Regional Engineering College (now NIT), Tiruchrapalli and IIT Delhi. The flag officer has held various key positions in the Indian Navy, including emergency services, staff officers and shipyards. He has served on board the Indian naval ships Ranvir, Rana, Delhi and Mumbai. The Admiral received the Nao Sena Medal (NM) in 2010 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) in 2021 for his meritorious services.
