Governor, CM express their condolences on the death of SV Prasad

Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan on Tuesday expressed his grief over the death of former IAS official SV Prasad, who died while being treated for COVID-19 infection at a private hospital in Hyderabad.

He said Mr. Prasad served as secretary to several chief ministers, chief secretary and state vigilance commissioner in the unified Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Harichandan offered condolences to the bereaved.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also expressed his grief over the death of Prasad. He said Prasad was known for his administrative skills and offered his condolences to the bereaved.

Naidu expresses sadness

National President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), N. Chandrababu Naidu, expressed shock and sadness over the death of Prasad. In a statement, Mr. Naidu said that Prasad has always been at the forefront to lead others in order to make government programs a success. “The fall of Prasad left a void. He had provided exemplary service as the former Chief Secretary of the combined Andhra Pradesh and as Vigilance Commissioner. In his role as Chairman of APGenco and Vice Chairman of the APSRTC, he had played a key role in strengthening the institutions.

Condolences poured in on Prasad’s death from various quarters. The Chief Justice of India, Nutalapati Venkata Ramana, was shocked. Recalling his long association with the former chief secretary, Mr. Ramana said Prasad led a simple life.
