181 officials promoted as inspectors

For the first time, 181 police officers were promoted to state police inspector on Saturday.

Police Director General D. Gautam Sawang said it was a historic milestone for the police force as never in their history have so many police officers been promoted at once.

Mr. Sawang said the matter of pending promotions for the past seven years was taken note of by Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and according to his instructions, a ministry promotion committee was formed six months ago. The committee chaired by Mr. Sawang began the process of identifying vacancies in all areas and sub-inspectors awaiting promotion, reviewing the Annual Confidential Report (ACR), and promoting 181 SIs as inspectors to 181 posts in Visakhapatnam Eluru. to occupy Guntur and Kurnool Ranges in one go.

This will serve as a permanent solution to the various seniority issues in promotions, he said.

Mr. Sawang said the department implemented an online automated police system (APOLIS) to ensure transparent and effective human resource management. It is also running the Human Capital Management project as a pilot in the country.
