Reverse tendering saves ₹ 5,070 Cr. to the treasury

The government’s reverse bidding and judicial preview policies have helped save the state coffers $ 5.070 billion over the past two years, according to an official release.

Reverse tenders were mainly conducted in the Water Resources, City Government, Education, Health and Family Welfare, Energy, Housing and Panchayat Raj departments.

Work on the water resources department alone, including the Polavaram project, saved nearly 1,825 crore over the above period.

The other big savings are: 1,203 billion in housing projects, 625 million in APMSIDC, 604 million in Panchayat Raj department, ₹ 486 million in AP-Genco and ₹ 326 million in education.
