Collector M. Hari Jawaharlal said Tuesday the county government had taken the necessary measures to mitigate the effects of cyclone Yaas on the county’s coastal areas as it crossed the coast between Bengal and Odisha.
He visited the Konada village of Pusapatirega Mandal and checked the cyclone protection there. He told the media that the impact on the mandals of Bhogapuram and Pusapatirega is likely to be greater because they are very close to the coast. “We expect heavy rains in all places in the next few days. People should take the necessary precautions to be safe. We have taken steps to overcome power and oxygen disruptions in all COVID-19 hospitals due to adverse climatic conditions, ”said Hari Jawaharlal.
The district administration has set up control rooms in Vizianagaram (08922-236947) and Parvatipuram (08963-222236) to monitor the situation.
