Unfortunate cancellation of community surveys: Sajjala

YSRCP (Public Affairs) general secretary and advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said the State High Court’s order to cancel the April elections for the ZPTCs and MPTCs was unfortunate.

“The elections were carried out with great difficulty. Many government employees risked their lives performing election duties. Such decisions could undermine the democratic process and people could lose confidence in the electoral process. The percentage of votes was high despite COVID-19 restrictions. We see no reason to stop the process, ”Ramakrishna Reddy told the media on Friday.

Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy said it was unfortunate that the verdict ignored the people’s decision.

“Elections are part of democracy. The government held the elections with the COVID-19 crisis in mind as elected officials will be available to better serve the public during the pandemic, “he said.

He expressed confidence that the YSRCP would win any election as the people were on their side.
