Collector M. Hari Narayanan issued an order on Tuesday evening to cease paying salaries to employees of Revenue, Panchayat Raj, Medicine and Health, Secretariats and Local Government for “neglect of COVID obligations”.
The staff of these departments were involved in conducting fever examinations in the mandals of Peddamanydam, Tavanampalle, Srikalahasti, Satyavedu and Madanapalle, all of which reported high numbers of infections in the second wave.
The order was issued in accordance with the Civil Protection Act. The collector said action would be taken under the law against any employee who neglects COVID obligations.
