Another COVID Care Center is to be built on the campus of the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT-T) in the Yerpedu Mandal of the Chittoor district.
The district administration is considering using the facility to take into account the increasing number of cases and the need to admit lightly affected patients from the Srikalahasti constituency.
At the direction of collector M. Hari Narayanan, Kanaka Narasa Reddy, Revenue Divisional Officer (Tirupati), visited the campus and explored the possibility of converting some of the buildings into a COVID Care Center. Mr. Reddy also examined the open spaces identified for the construction of an oxygen facility near Srikalahasti.
Meanwhile, joint collector (development) K. Veerabrahmam held a meeting on Sunday with representatives who were supplying oxygen to all hospitals in the district where they were instructed to act with priority.
