Veerraju slams KCR – The Hindu

BJP President Somu Veerraju made an exception on Friday from the Telangana government, which has refused entry in ambulances carrying COVID-19 patients from Andhra Pradesh at the AP-Telangana border points.

At a press conference, the BJP chairman said that, under the AP Reorganization Act, Hyderabad would continue to be the joint capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from 2014 to 2024. People had traveled to Hyderabad to get better treatment as it was said to be a medical center.

The BJP leader slipped Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s position on the matter, saying it would be in violation of the High Court’s ruling. Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should take the opportunity and hold talks with his counterpart in Telangana, he said.

Regarding the deaths of two patients who were denied entry to Telangana at the border on Friday, Mr Veerraju said Mr Rao was responsible for the deaths. He said he had spoken to Union Minister Kishan Reddy about tensions on the border and would write to the center to take steps to prevent such incidents from reoccurring.
