Col. Santosh Babu’s motivation hall was inaugurated at Korukonda Sainik School

The hall houses information and exhibits related to wars that India waged after independence, with images in sequential order

Colonel Santosh Babu’s motivation hall was inaugurated on Saturday by Vice Admiral MS Pawar, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff and a graduate of the Sainik School in Korukonda, at the school in the Vizianagaram district.

The hall was named after Colonel B. Santosh Babu, a recipient of Maha Vir Chakra who was an alumnus of the school and was killed on the Indochinese border in east Ladakh on June 15, 2020 by the Chinese Armed Forces in the Galwan Valley.

The hall houses the information and exhibits related to wars that India waged after independence, with images in sequential order.

It also covers the great pre-independence Indian warriors and field marshals. The hall was designed to give the cadets detailed information about various academies of military training.

It also shows recipients of Gallantry Awards, namely Param Vir Chakra and Mahavir Chakra laureates. Ship models of the classes INS Rajput and P28 Kamorta, which were presented by the Eastern Naval Command and the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, were exhibited in the motivation hall.

Col AM Kulkarni, the headmaster, and others were present. He also provided information on how the school conducted classes online.

Officials and staff attended the inauguration ceremony in accordance with COVID-19 standards. The cadets witnessed the ceremony online.
