YSRCP MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju arrested by AP CID

A team of CID people went to Mr. Raju’s residence in a Gachibowli residential complex and issued notices

Narsapur MP, Raghurama Krishnam Raju, was arrested by a team of AP CID police after a major drama at his home in Hyderabad. Mr. Raju was at his house in a residential complex in Gachibowli when a team from the CID police issued a notice under Section 50 (2), Section 124 (A), 153 and 505 IPC and later arrested him. The notice from SP, CID, R. Vijaya Paul states that a notice will be published in sections that were not available.

According to sources, a team of CID people went to a residential complex in Gachibowli and issued notices. The MP who was given Type Y security was guarded by CRPF. A video grave showed the MP was surrounded by CRPF men.

The CID team said they were going to arrest Mr. Raju after receiving the notice. When the family members protested, the CID police asked them to cooperate with them and seek bail in court. The MP’s son, Bharat, said his father had heart surgery only four months ago. The MP was seen yelling at the police, but the CID police soon picked him up and took him to the CID office in Guntur.

Mr Raju, who won on a YSRCP ticket from the constituency of Narsarapuram Lok Sabha in Andhra Pradesh, fell out with the party shortly after the election. Mr Raju then launched a series of attacks on the prime minister and the party over recent decisions. In his last post published on youtube, Mr. Raju was seen attacking public affairs advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, accusing him of instigating a social media cell to upload posts against him.

Recently, Mr Raju filed a motion with the CBI Special Court in Nampally to have Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bail waiver.
