COVID Treatment: Nine more hospitals booked in AP

The COVID Hospital flight commandos, made up of Vigilance and Enforcement, Drug Control Administration and Department of Health officials, registered criminal cases against nine other hospitals across the state for various violations of the treatment of COVID patients on Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to a statement from the Department of Vigilance and Enforcement, hospitals booked include Chaitra Hospital, Eluru; Asha Hospital, Anantapur; SR Hospital, Anil Nirukonda Hospital and Ramya Hospital in Visakhapatnam; Achuta Enclave and Sriram Hospital of Vijayawada; Viswas Hospital, Guntur, and Dr. Prasad Hospital, Chittoor. Most of them were booked beyond government-mandated fees because of patient overload.

Ramya, Achyuta and Sriram hospitals have been booked to treat COVID patients without a permit.

Others were booked for forcing patients to receive remdesivir and refusing treatment on Aarogyasri, Remdesivir Black Marketing and Misappropriation and others. A total of 15 hospitals were searched. So far, 37 hospitals have been booked for various violations in the state.
