With 89 deaths, AP’s COVID number stands at 9,000

The state reported 89 deaths from COVID and 21,452 new infections in the 24 hours ended Wednesday morning, bringing the number to 8,988 and the cumulative number to 13,44,386.

Up to 19,095 patients recovered on the previous day and the number of recoveries reached 11,38,028. The number of active cases was close to two lakh at 1,97,370. The recovery rate and the death rate remain at 84.65% and 0.67%, respectively.

The positivity rate of the 90,750 samples tested the previous day was 23.64% and the overall positivity rate of the 1.76 Crore samples tested was 7.64%.

New deaths, cases

Visakhapatnam reported 11 new deaths, followed by East Godavari, Krishna and Vizianagaram, who each reported nine new deaths.

Chittoor, Guntur and Nellore each reported eight new deaths, while Srikakulam reported seven, Anantapur six, Kurnool five, Prakasam four, West Godavari and Kadapa reported two deaths last day.

East Godavari reported nearly 3,000 new infections last day, and two other districts reported more than two thousand new infections last day.

The new infection values ​​for each district are as follows: East Godavari (2,927), Visakhapatnam (2,238), Anantapur (2,185), Chittoor (1,908), Guntur (1,836), Kadapa (1,746), Nellore (1,689), Kurnool (1,524)), Srikakulam (1,285), West Godavari (1,232), Prakasam (1,192), Krishna (997) and Vizianagaram (693).
